- Stone-ground soft wheat flour, extra virgin olive oil, salt, and brewer's yeast: it seems impossible that such a delicacy could come from just four simple ingredients.
Yet, that's all it takes to make a Pan Pizza, an invention born in Turin that has set out to conquer the world. It is said that, like many culinary delights, it was born by accident from a cook who hoped to gain some time by preparing the base—topped with some tomato sauce—the night before baking.
The long rest before baking turns into a second rising that gives the dough a special texture and unique taste. Soft on the inside and with a crispy crust, round just as tradition dictates: all you need to do is top it with your favorite ingredients and bake it for about ten minutes in a preheated oven.
